The IEEE2600.1 standard is a Protection Profile for Hard Copy devices used in "Operational Environment A", which is generally characterized as a restrictive commercial information processing environment in which a relatively high level of document security, operational accountability, and information assurance are required. Typical information processed in "Operational Environment A" is trade secret, mission-critical, or subject to legal and regulatory considerations such as for privacy or governance.

Given the common controller architecture used by Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9000 PRO/C7000/8000/6000 Series models are also Compliant with the IEEE 2600.1 standard, when equipped with the necessary accessories, along with the specific installation and configuration requirements.
