This solution couples the ProStream press with PRISMAproduction Advanced JDF Processor workflow automation software and adds a Muller Martini Presto II booklet maker to produce 8-page, 16-page and 24-page signature saddle-stitch booklets. The Book Smart solution enables metadata XML files to be dropped into hot directories where they are automatically batched for job-to-job efficiency gains, imposed and released for print and finishing using 2D barcodes and JDF/JMF communications. Book Smart is part of an effort to further expand Arna’s offerings in one-off book production beyond its current 4-page signature booklets produced on the varioPRINT i-series sheetfed printers and CP Bourg saddle-stitchers.
